Green Lantern Goes in
Being at home behind turntables for the early part of my hip hop career, I can say i usually empathize with the struggles of the common DJ or B-Boy comin up in this tough and twisted game...So Green Lantern did go in on DJs that arent actually DJs..I've seen some of these cats at work...Whack ass mixes, No game and they tend to run in small packs....Back in the day people used to have to have turntables and a mixer and records to call themselves a DJ. Nowadays anybody with a computer and a few cd's can bring it in the club. Lantern gives his props to legends such as Funk Flex, Tony Touch and Ron G..."I saw the excitement these guys brought".
At the same time when we think of Djs we rarely get to see them in the forefront...We did however get to see Lantern at work around last march and he made a very good impression. His advice to anyone coming up DJing is "Don't watch what anybody else is doing...If u have to re invent the wheel, by all means do it."...May the wheels of steel be always with you...
